The second of our two summer exhibitions for 2021 introduces some exciting talent showing at the Byre for the first time, and welcomes back some returning favourites.
Cornwall artist Nicola Mosely makes a welcome return with a new collection of her elegant and peaceful studies of the coastline and estuary around Falmouth.
Two other Cornwall based artists: Alex Yarlett and Tara Leaver are showing collections of their elegant and distinctive work at the Byre Gallery for the first time.
Highlands based ceramicist Michele Bianco proved a huge hit when we showed her stunning sculptural work last summer and we're delighted that she's coming back to Cornwall this year with a new collection of work - we're the only gallery in the south west to show Michele's ceramics.
Another ceramicist making a welcome return is Loraine Rutt of the Little Globe Company. Drawing on her career as a cartographer before taking up ceramics, Loraine produces the most exquisite miniature globes and maps. Always a hit at the Byre Gallery, we're very much looking forward to having some new pieces from her in The Best of Both Worlds.
We've got a stunning new collection of glass vessels from gallery regular - now working in Murano, Vencie - Benjamin Lintell; and we're delighted to welcome a glass artist new to the Byre Gallery, Verity Pulford. Verity is based in North Wales and as well as kiln fired vessels she also works in pâte de verde; an exquisite collection of work.
There is also some gorgeous new jewellery from Claire Stockings-Baker, Lucy Spink and Libby Ward to look forward to.
