How much does the course cost?

The ‘Classic’ which includes all six modules, some super useful handouts PLUS the LIVE Zoom session is £145.

I’m at the beginning of my career as an artist and only just starting to think about galleries, is it too soon to do your course?

It’s never too early to get yourself ready, the course covers knowing when you are ready - your creative work - as well as your brand and your business.

Is this course only for visual artists? I’m a ceramicist and I wonder if it will be relevant?

It’s very much for all makers and artists. I exhibit work from - and have mentored - jewellers, ceramicists, glass artists, textile artists, print makers and more… and so I’ve created a course that is totally relevant to you, whatever your discipline.

I don’t have time to sit and watch videos, is there any other way to access the content?

Yes, all the modules will be available as audio files too, so you can listen and learn while you get on with other things - like creating your beautiful work!

What’s the format of the course?

There are six modules - in total over 2.5 hours of content, plus super useful handouts. You can download and watch - or listen to the audio version whenever suits you, and re-watch too. Then there is the Live 'Ask the Gallery' session too. Plus you can add a 1:1 if you'd like.

Do you have to have watched all the modules before the live Zoom?

No, not at all but it might be helpful. If you’ve got a burning question, it may have been covered in the course, but there is no problem in asking it anyway!

I’d love to take part but I’m not free for the live Zoom.

Not a problem. The live session is recorded and will be available to download from the following morning and can be watched at your leisure.  If you have a question you’d like to ask, just email in advance.

How long is the Live Zoom?

45 minutes - but I’m happy to extend if there are lots of burning questions!

What’s the format of the Zoom?

It’s a Q&A session, you can either email me questions in advance or ask during the session.

I hate taking part in live zooms, do I have to have my camera on?

Absolutely not. This is your session, you can join in without having your camera on and ask any questions via the Chat facility.

It all sounds great - how do I apply?

Booking is NOW open and you can sign up HERE

I'd love to do this but I don't have time at the moment, will you be doing it again next year?

The course will be coming back in 2025 in a slightly new format, with additional modules and handouts... but the price will be going up too. All Alumni of the course will still have access to the new material, so if you sign up now you'll be securing some great content at today's prices.

About Elaine Dye

Following a career in PR in the arts and media (including being a senior member of the communications team launching BBC Four television in 2002), Elaine took an MA in Curating.  Graduation coincided with the completion of a building project which turned dilapidated Cornish barns into a home with an exhibition space attached, and in 2014, the Byre Gallery officially opened its doors.

Elaine curates around five exhibitions a year at the Byre and occasionally at other venues. Elaine is also an experienced business coach and mentor specialising in working with creatives*; she regularly gives talks and presentations on subjects including, getting ready to sell, working with galleries, and styling techniques for artists and makers. In 2023 she launched an online course: An Insider’s Guide to Gallery Success.
