Bess Harding is a self-taught artist, living by the sea in West Sussex. Always creative, it took a few years of experimenting with different media to find her niche with oil paints. She is most interested in still life, seeking to capture a feeling of calm grace and quiet composure no matter what the subject. She enjoys offering objects a little stage to sit quietly on so that they might be considered.
Bess’s work has been selected for the prestigious Columbia Threadneedle Art Prize (2018), the Society of Women Artists annual exhibition (2019), the Royal Society of British Artists annual exhibition (2020), the ING Discerning Eye annual exhibition (2021) and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition twice (2022 & 2023).
