Festive weather?
As it's a very wet and windy morning in Cornwall I thought an image of more appealing wintery weather might brighten the day for those of us under grey skies.
If you who visited the gallery for the second of our summer exhibitions -
Hidden Depths - you would have seen Kerry Harding's very striking work, which won her many new fans. I am of course a huge fan; I love her dramatic style of capturing land and seascapes, but I have to admit I'm totally smitten by the much more gentle landscape in the picture above - Jean's House. I find myself being drawn across the wintery field to that very inviting house; captivating.
Icy hues continue in glass - stunning pieces by Toni Fairhead and from Angie Packer - and in ceramics too. If your Christmas tree still needs some more sparkle, there are super elegant ceramic baubles from Katie Lowe, perfect pewter pieces from Phil Atkin, and Remon Jephcott's ever-delightful bird decorations. And for more personal adornment, don't forget the stunning jewellery from some of the Byre Gallery's favourite designer-makers with something to suit all tastes and budgets.
I do hope you can make it along to see the exhibition whatever the weather - and mince pies and chocolates are of course plentiful!
