Sophie Harding Wildflowers, acrylic on board, 2020 The Byre Gallery

Sophie Harding

Sophie’s work is all about simplicity, harmony, and the power of colour in its ability to glow, clash or sing. Working mainly from life and from sketches, Sophie paints moments from her life: a collection of objects in the home, seasonal fruit and flowers, a morning spent on the beach or in a Cornish garden. By simplifying objects and scenes she aims to create feelings of joy, escapism and calm with a focus on the small and simple joys in life. Sophie’s paintings can be seen in galleries throughout the UK. In addition to her paintings, Sophie enjoys a successful career as an illustrator: her stylish and distinctive images can be found in many quality outlets and, since acquiring a rescue whippet six years ago, Sophie has worked with Just Whippets Rescue designing bestselling products especially for the charity.
