David has been painting the South West coast path for the past three years mainly capturing Plymouth Sound and the Rame Peninsula. He says,: “the path is equivalent to the line on a page which meanders along and leads the eye; giving me the colour and texture of land, sea and sky. Forever changing light and hue due to time and season means that I could paint the same view several times but each is different. My gaze can be above the coast or rooted in it; my brush describes the view, and feeling for the view, in condensed blocks of texture and colour."
