Standing on Ceremony
The Byre, 28th March – 31 May 2015
Stunning examples of contemporary ceramics take centre stage for The Byre’s first exhibition of 2015 in a setting inspired by the 19th century fascination with the Orient.
Chris Taylor who was awarded Ceramic Review magazine’s best newcomer award at Ceramic Art London in April 2014 exhibits his stunning vessels at The Byre for the first time, as does Scottish ceramicist Moyra Stewart with her striking naked raku work. Ceramicists who regularly exhibit at The Byre: Jill Holland and Remon Jephcott make a welcome return with new work inspired by the theme.
In addition to a wealth of pottery, there are new glass pieces from Charlotte Sale and Ruth Shelley, textiles from Penny Seume and jewellery from Tracey Falvey, Anna Pope and – making her debut at The Byre – Scottish jewellery designer Ellis Mhairi Cameron.
