Jill uses paper porcelain to make her unique vessels. Her process is like ceramic collage – she begins her pieces by printing and painting thin sheets of porcelain with coloured slips (liquid clay). When the sheets are dry enough she cuts out motifs, lays them on a background sheet of porcelain and rolls them together. The inlaid soft slabs of clay are then formed into vessels.
