Emily originally trained as a painter at Falmouth School of Art, but on graduating in 2018, she was drawn to the idea of making work with a functional focus. In 2019, Emily embarked on an apprenticeship with Falmouth based potter Michel Francois and established her own pottery in Penryn. All her pieces are wheel-thrown with locally sourced clay and much of the work is finished with carefully developed, hand-mixed slips and glazes including pigments and minerals sourced from Cornish land.
