A Change of Scene
1st August – 20th September 2020
For our summer 2020 exhibition, five Cornwall based artists – Jill Hudson, Sophie Harding, Martha Holmes, Eleanor Lee and Sara Owen – have each produced some stunning new work full of summer brightness. The exhibition also features work in ceramics, glass and jewellery from makers based throughout the length and breadth of the UK, including the highly acclaimed Scottish ceramicist Michele Bianco who is showing her stunning hand-built vessels for the first time in the south west. Fellow ceramicists Lucy Burley, Helen Harrison, Remon Jephcott, Judy McKenzie, Hugh Perry, Kathryn Sherriff, Emily Olivia Tapp and Kate Welton make welcome returns each creating some lovely new pieces; as does glass artist Benjamin Lintell with some stunning new work.
Jewellery is always a key part of an exhibition at the Byre Gallery and A Change of Scene is no exception: regulars Beverly Bartlett, Clare Lloyd, Amy Stringer, Libby Ward and Lizzie Weir are joined by recent discoveries Eleanor Symm and Carin Lindberg – all with highly covetable new collections; there is so much to fall in love with!
