About The Byre Gallery

The Byre is situated on the edge of the village of Millbrook on the beautiful Rame Peninsula in south-east Cornwall. It can be easily reached from Plymouth and west Devon and from the rest of Cornwall – and there is plenty of parking at The Byre, just drive up the steep slope towards the gallery.

The Byre offers a memorable customer experience: each exhibition features exciting works of design-led contemporary craft in ceramics, glass, jewellery, metals and textiles; complementing these are carefully selected paintings, prints, works in paper and wall hung craft.

In addition to each new exhibition, The Byre Collection is a selection of beautiful pieces of contemporary craft by some of The Byre’s favourite makers. An opportunity to show stunning examples of ceramics, glass and metalwork not featured in the main exhibition, The Byre Collection is renewed, refreshed and restyled throughout the year – and some of the pieces are available to purchase online. The Byre Collection is available to enjoy all year, when the gallery is closed please contact us to arrange a visit at a time that suits you – and enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine while you view.

The Byre opened in October 2013, and is owned and curated by Elaine Dye who left behind her former profession of PR to turn her passion for contemporary craft into her new day job; a move she has never regretted!
