Breaking the Ice – our exhibition for Christmas is now open – online as well as in the gallery. Do take a moment to check out the ‘shop’ page where you can see some of the work featured in the show. If there is anything that you spotted in the gallery that isn’t online, please give me a call.
Less than two weeks to go until The Byre makes its London debut at Kew Gardens for Handmade at Kew. Preparations are in full swing here so that we can arrive and set up with minimum and fuss and drama… well, it wouldn’t be one of my exhibitions if there wasn’t some drama along the way.
New work from The Byre’s favourite makers is starting to arrive, and yesterday I drove over to the edge of Dartmoor to visit ceramicist Pauline Lee at her beautiful garden studio. Pauline has made a stunning collection of new torsos especially for Kew and I’m very much looking forward to showing them. Two are pictured here, along with some of Pauline’s other work on display in her studio and in her garden – as all are pieces can be placed indoors or outdoors.
Very excited to report that The Byre will be making its London debut later this year. We’ve been selected to take part in an exciting new international craft event at Kew Gardens: Handmade at Kew from 8th – 11th of October. I’ll be exhibiting work from some of The Byre’s favourite makers including Ruth Shelley, Charlotte Sale, Jill Holland, Remon Jephcott and Pauline Lee. More details soon…
