This beautiful painting of salt marshes on the river Lyhner in south east Cornwall is by Jill Hudson, a graduate of Falmouth College of Arts who continues to live and work in Cornwall.
Since her studies, Jill has travelled to and painted in Peru and Mexico, and in 2005 was the Expedition Artist with Raleigh International in Chile. Jill regularly sails in Cornwall and sometimes crews on traditional Pilot Cutters, and many of her seascape paintings come from these experiences. More recent adventures have been working on the first International Arts festival in Bhutan, and sailing and painting in Greenland. Jill paints the world around her, sometimes what she imagines, but her art is about the landscape of life in all its forms – its fleetingness, its poetry, its loneliness, and its reality.
Jill’s work can be seen in galleries in Cornwall and London
Salt Marshes is framed in a white wooden frame and measures 28.5cm x 33.5cm (actual painting is 13cm x17cm)
