Feeling Refreshed – new craft and art in ‘Taste’

Feeling Refreshed

It’s May, and The Byre has re-opened refreshed and re-invigorated after a short break.

For this second ‘course’ of Taste, we’ve had a re-hang to introduce some stunning new paintings by Jill Hudson – which I’m sure will be as popular as those that have already gone to their new homes. There is some vibrant ‘zingy’ shades of green in jewellery by Tracey Falvey and new pieces from the ever-elegant collection by Anna Pope.

As well as new delights in glass and ceramics – there are the wonderful wooden vessels in ash and oak by Sam Harrison; these really are wow factor pieces, their sculptural forms seeming to capture the memory of the living tree.  On a more delicate scale, silversmith Charlotte Duckworth uses holly for the handles of her exquisite silver utensils – from espresso spoon to sauce ladles, these are functional and oh-so-desirable forever pieces.

I do hope you can make it along to enjoy Taste at some point – we’re open Wednesdays to Sundays until the 3rd June.
