About The Byre Gallery

The Byre Gallery on the Rame peninsula in south-east Cornwall exhibits stunning works of design-led craft and contemporary fine art by leading and emerging makers and artists from throughout the UK.

The Byre is open three times a year with exhibitions held in spring, summer and at Christmas, and is a must-visit destination for all lovers of fine art as well as contemporary craft in ceramics, glass, jewellery, metals and textiles.

An exhibition at the Byre gallery shows art and craft in the suggestion of a domestic context: each exhibition is specially curated to show how art and craft can look in the home rather than shown in a more traditional gallery setting.

The Byre opened in spring 2014, and is owned and curated by Elaine Dye who left behind her former profession of PR to turn her passion for contemporary craft into her new day job; a move she has never regretted!

The gallery is easily reached from Devon, Plymouth and Cornwall and is surrounded by beautiful coastal countryside. There is plenty of parking at The Byre, just drive up the steep slope towards the gallery.

Sourcing

At The Byre gallery we enjoy seeing clients fall in love: from exquisite pieces of glass or elegant jewellery to sculptural ceramics and breathtaking paintings, when you find the right piece you’ve got to make it yours. But the path of true love might sometimes need a helping hand, so if you are looking to find the object of your desire we’re here to help find your perfect match with our bespoke art sourcing service.

Wedding gift registry, sourcing art for a specific room or a new home, commissioning a piece of jewellery or just finding the perfect sized ceramic vase, we work with – and beyond – our portfolio of designer makers and artists, to suggest stunning pieces to fit the brief and the budget, and most importantly give you the wow factor that only original art and craft can bring.

We are also happy to assist with delivery and installation.
